To use any of the apps associated with IBM Micromedex, you first need to access Micromedex through the library homepage.
- Click on the Micromedex link on the library website (on the right-hand side under "Popular Resources") and log in with your HelixNet username and password when prompted. If you do not know your HelixNet username and password, please call the IT Help Desk at 847.578.8800.
- Upon entering your HelixNet username and password, you will be redirected to the Micromedex homepage.
- Once you are there, click "Mobile Application Access" in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
- The authentication instructions for each app are listed under the heading Micromedex Native Mobile Apps (Offline access, included with content subscription).
Once you have the authentication information, you can download the following apps and register for access on your mobile device
- IBM Micromedex Drug Ref
- IBM Micromedex Drug Int
- IBM Micromedex IV Comp
- IBM Micromedex NeoFax
- IBM Micromedex Pediatrics
You will be asked to update your password on an annual basis. Once the current password nears expiration, the app will remind you to enter a new one. At that time, return to the Micromedex site and obtain the new password. Please note: this is the publisher's requirement, not ours.
