- Library of Congress (LOC) Free to Use and Reuse Image Collection - The Library of Congress' digitized photo collection that has been allocated for public domain use.
- Smithsonian Institution Flickr Commons - A small collection of the Smithsonian's digitized image collection that has been allocated for public domain use.
- The Internet Archive - Billions of archived web pages, images, books, news papers, software, audio recordings, video and images on a variety of subjects that are freely accessible to the public. Most, but not all, of the collection in the Internet Archive is in the public domain.
- The National Gallery of Art Public Domain Collection - A collection digitized works of art from the National Gallery of Art that have been allocated to the public domain.
- Wikimedia Commons - Millions of freely usable images, videos, and sound files on a variety of subjects. Contains a number of collections from many institutions that have partnered with this project.
