How to Find Images in UpToDate

UpToDate has a collection of images you can download for lectures and presentations. There are a few ways to find images in UpToDate:

Finding Images By Using Terms

Below is the process for finding images by terms. THis is the process you would use if your main goal for accessing UpToDate is to find images for presentations.

Step 1: Go to the Boxer Library homepage

Step 2: Click on UpToDate underneath Related Links

If you are viewing the website on a mobile device, the Related Links list will be at the bottom of the page.

Step 3: Enter your Term and click Graphics on the drop down menu.

* You may be prompted to enter in your HelixNet username and password before you see the search screen. If you have issues with your password contact the IT Helpdesk at (847) 578-8800.

Step 4: Click on an image.

Step 5: Click on Export to PowerPoint

Downloading Image Within a Topic

In UpToDate, images are accessible through links instead of embedded right on the page. To access the image, click on the image link.

Step 1: Click on Image or Table

Step 2: Click on Export to PowerPoint to download the image.

Accessing images in a topic menu

The topic outline on the left side of the page has a section dedicated to images. In this section, you can click on a View All link which displays a list of all of the images in the topic or click on an individual image using a link in the bulleted list.

Step 1: Scroll down to the Graphics section in the bottom of the topic menu.

Step 2: Click on either View All to see a list of all the images in the topic or click on an individual image in the bulleted list.
