What is RefWorks?

RefWorks is a tool to collect, manage, and organize research papers and documents. Use this resource to keep track of your citations and share information with collaborators, and to cite your resources.

Creating an Account

To create a RefWorks account:

  1. Go to and click the “Create account” link.

Click "create account" on the RefWorks login screen

  1. Fill in your information making sure to use your RFUMS email address (you can’t sign up with,, etc.).

Use your RFUMS email to create an account

Once you activate your account (you'll receive an email with a link to complete the registration process), you’ll get access immediately and can get started managing your documents.
