Mission
The mission of the Student Library Advisory Committee is to provide a forum for student representatives of RFUMS programs to engage with the Boxer Library administration with the goal of developing library online and print resource collections, spaces, and services that support the mission of Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science which is “To serve humanity through the interprofessional education of health and biomedical professionals, and the discovery of knowledge dedicated to improving wellness”. This committee is a collaboration between the Boxer Library and Executive Student Council (ESC).
Vision:
To be the student voice in the development of library resources and services.
Types of Initiatives Requested by the SLAC and Implemented by the Boxer Library:
Acquisition of additional standing desks for the library space.
Request for an online chat service for library reference services.
Acquisition of phone and laptop chargers for checkout.
Drop-in workshops for databases such as UpToDate.
Reconfiguration of study space for more collaborative study space as well as silent study spaces.
