Study Spaces General Rules

The majority of the rules listed below were identified by the Coronavirus Oversight Committee and outlined by John Nylen on August 11th. Please be aware that seating is limited due to the 8 square feet of space requirement determined by the Coronavirus Oversight Committee and mentioned by President Wendy Rheault in the Town Hall on May 22nd.

Below are the main guidelines in terms of the use of study space:

  • Masks are to be worn.
  • Library is open 24 Hours a Day for studying.
  • Do not move the furniture; it has been positioned to enforce social distancing.
  • Please leave and take your things when the areas are being cleaned.
  • Do not study in groups.

Eating in the Boxer Library

The Boxer Library is going to be open for eating lunch within the hours of 11:00-2:00 due to the limited seating within the DNA Cafe.

There are some specific rules when eating.

  • Please minimize the amount of time you are not wearing a mask to eat.
  • As soon as you are done eating, please put your mask back on.
  • Throw out any trash to help keep the areas clean.
  • Do not eat in groups.
  • Do not leave food unattended.

Printing in the Library

Can I print?

  • Yes, you can print.
    • However, to minimize the spread of COVID-19, many public access computers have been removed.
    • Currently, the only public access computers are located on the lower level.
    • We recommend using your own device to send jobs to the LRC printer using the EveryonePrint app.
    • For computers on the lower level, you will need to check out keyboards and mice at the Circulation Desk before accessing the computers. This allows the library staff to disinfect them after each use.
