CINAHL Complete Tutorial

Once you have a CINAHL Heading, you can also search keywords by using the OR function to obtain:

• Items published within the last six months
• Newer concepts that may not yet have a corresponding heading 

Applying multiple Major Concepts in CINAHL Headings:

1. Click on CINAHL Headings page. (Review the Basics of CINAHL Headings page to learn how to access the CINAHL Headings page). 
2. Enter the term into the CINAHL Headings search box. 
3. Click on the checkbox next to your term and click search database.
4. In the second search box put in your keyword. 
5. Click on OR in the drop down menu next to the search box.
6. Click Search.
