Welcome to the companion guide to the library lecture portion of the Clinical Skills Orientation Session. 

As you work in your clerkships you may need to look for literature or articles that support your clinical decisions. 

 Remember these four steps when looking for articles or literature to support your clinical decisions: 

1. .Ask a clinical question.
2. Acquire the evidence to answer the clinical questions with UpToDate, AccessMedicine, and PubMed. 
3. Appraise the evidence for quality.
4. Apply to your situation.
