Message from the AVP

The library team is excited to ring in 2023 with you as we continually improve our resources and services to meet your needs whether it be educational, clinical, or research. The new year is always an exciting time to plan for new opportunities and dream of possibilities. Read this newsletter to learn about new things such as a bulletin board to advertise student events, systematic review guide, as well as the newest addition to our team Samantha Loster. Also learn about our upcoming topics such as predatory publishing, type of literature reviews, how we are contributing to wellness weeks and recordings of past sessions. We hope you have a fantastic start to 2023, and are ready to help you achieve your goals at RFUMS.

Announcements

New Bulletin Board

Would you like to let other students know about your event/announcement in a high traffic location? The library team just had a new bulletin board installed for students to post events or announcements. If you would like to post or distribute more materials such as giveaways for other students outside of the bulletin board, please use the following form and the library team will work with you to ensure that there is space for as many student groups as possible.

Welcome to the Team, Samantha Loster

The Boxer Library is happy to have a new Electronic Resources Librarian! Samantha Loster. Samantha graduated from University of Illinois Urbana Champaign with an MSLIS and prior to that, she worked here as a Library Assistant, Tier II. Her interests include data management, true crime podcasts, and mysteries.

Please join us in welcoming her to the library!

Boxer Library Donations

We want to thank all our donors. Recently, we accepted small donations from Dr. John F. Strauss and Dr. Fred Seirles and Terrie Spengal. Several of these books were written by members of the faculty and alum, and one is a new biographical volume about German pediatrician Wilhelm Strauss, written in both English and German. We want to thank them for their generous donations. Anyone interested in donating to the Boxer Library can find more information here: https://guides.rosalindfranklin.edu/alumni
